How are shelves attached to the dowels?

How are shelves attached to the dowels? Set screws? Adhesive? How thick is the bracket? Is the bracket very visible after shelf installation?

Much of what attaches the shelves to the dowels is friction when the shelf is slid on. Though we do also recommend using either wood glue or silicone to provide a more permanent and sturdy bond. The mounting plate of the bracket is 1.5" wide and 1/4" thick. So long as the back of the shelf is routed and the shelf is approximately 2" thick, the bracket itself can be completely hidden.
