Five brackets should be plenty to support that surface! We recommend one bracket every 16"-20" while ensuring either end of the surface has a bracket within 6" or so to ensure it is fuller supported.
Will five 24” (1/2 thick) brackets on a 5’8” pony wall support slab 28”x5’8”? Overhang off brackets would be 4” L Countertop Bracket
